In the early 1900’s, the site where the Hillside currently stands was occupied by a hotel called Hargraves Resort.
In the mid 1900’s, the business was known as Woods Resort.
The business was officially renamed Hillside Resort in 1990.
In May of 1993, the business was purchased by Mike and Jody Anderson, who still own and operate it today.
On July 3rd of 1993, a 500 year flood hit the area. Many homes were lost in the disaster. The foundation supporting the Hillside was almost completely washed away.
On Sept. 9th, 1997, the Hillside Resort was destroyed by a mid-morning fire.
A short four months later, on January 8th, 1998, a new building was completed and was ready to open on January 30th.
On July 11, 2000, a tornado followed by a severe
thunderstorm ripped through the area.
In May of 2003, Mike and Jody Anderson celebrated their 10-year anniversary of owning  & operating the Hillside Resort.
